‘Good Neighbor’ Holiday Food Drive benefits the Community Market at St. Peters by the Sea Episcopal Church
PRESS RELEASE: December 28, 2023
As part of its ‘Good Neighbor’ program, Narragansett 2100, Inc., a non-profit organization of owners of rental property in Narragansett, worked with the local property managers, the Narragansett 2100 URI Student Advisory Council and the Narragansett Community Center to conduct a successful food drive to benefit the Community Market at St. Peter’s by the Sea Episcopal Church in Narragansett.
The drive generated 60 lbs. of food for those in need of food.
As URI students left their Narragansett homes for the Christmas break, they donated non-perishable items. Visitors to the Narragansett Community Center generously donated food items as well.
“We are so grateful for all the food donated by URI students showing that they are aware of their neighbors and willing to help those who are less fortunate. This food will help alleviate the increasing financial burden faced by people on a fixed or low income budget. We also want to thank those many who donated food at the Narragansett Community Center.” said Becky Johnson, Co-Chair, The Community Market.
“This third annual Holiday food drive is an example of how our ‘Good Neighbor’ program supports and unites the Narragansett community.” said George Nonis, president of Narragansett 2100, Inc.
